Well school has now been in session for about 6 weeks so I thought I would do a little update on what is happening with us. Sorry no pictures this time. I just wanted to do some general journaling.
Cooper has adjusted well to Kindergarten. He has said on occasion that he has to sit all day! However, his class has been working hard for about 2 weeks to earn a recess. They finally did what they needed to and so on Monday they will get to clean up early and go play outside before it is time to go home. Cooper is really looking forward for that. When school started Cooper was a little nervous, he only knew 2 friends in his class and he was really going to miss his preschool teacher Kris Purcell. He told me the other day that he likes kindergarten better now that he has met some new friends that sit by him. He seems also to like his teacher. As the parent, I wish I knew more about what they do in class. I can only get so much out of Cooper. A few months after we have baby I plan to go into the classroom and help his teacher, then I will know more. Cooper is still playing soccer and is really liking it. Every week he gets more comfortable with his soccer skills and he is really improving. It is fun to watch him play, he always has a big smile on his face. We feel really lucky, Cooper was put onto a team with a great set of coaches and other kids. There are a few kids who have played together for the last 3 years and they really help the new comers to know what to do. Lastly, Cooper is really excited for baby sister to join us. He is really rooting to name her Daisy. Yesterday, I started packing a hospital bag and he came in sisters room while I was picking out her clothes he wanted to help me. The phone rang so while I went to answer it he laid out all her jammies to see which one or two he wanted us to pack. It was so sweet and he was so excited. He had a hard time choosing just one so we packed like four.
Beckham is having a good time at preschool. We car pool with a friend down the street and they have become good friends. One day a week Beckham gets to go play at her house for about 30 min. before school while I drive the elementary kids to school and then the other day a week Riley plays here while her mom drives elementary kids. Beckham really looks forward to both of those play times. He has been working on his letters and occasionally he will start singing a song that they are learning. Beckham is really teachable and wants to be as independent as possible. He really pays attention when you tell or show him something and wants to do it right from thereon out. Recently, I decided it was time to teach Cooper how to properly hold his spoon/fork and of course showed Beckham too not thinking that he would be the one who actually could do it. But sure enough Beckham now holds his spoon/fork properly without any encouragement. I think that being teachable is one of the greatest talents one can have. He too is excited for sister to join us. I have a pain in the upper part of my right rib that is always there and occasionally sister kick that area and sends me an extra shooting pain. When this happens I always wince or something. Well one day that happened and Beckham said something to the effect, theres sister again kicking mommy. He continues to say, it is really annoying that she kicks you mommy because it hurts you. Bad sister. It was so sweet that he cared so much. He is such a loving little guy. He is always telling us how much he loves us and wants to give hugs and kisses all the time.
As for the adults in our family, Chet is doing well. He is still working as in-house council for Fidelity. He has been riding the bus to work, which only takes an extra ten min or so each way, and has been enjoying that time to just veg. He has plowed through so many books. So if you know of any good authors pass it along because he reads a book about every week. Thank goodness for the library. About 2-3months ago Chet got a hole in his bike tire and we have been to cheap to buy a new tire until two weeks ago. So for the last couple of Saturdays he has gone out with a couple of friends and rode for a while. He likes to ride his bike, but to him it is still exercise and therefore a chore. I try to tell him at some point exercises actually becomes fun and something to look forward to. But until you get to that point you just have to make yourself do it. I hope that he will soon think of biking as more than just exercise. I like biking and think it would be a fun thing for us to do together.
That brings us to me. I am scheduled to have baby in less than a week now. I am feeling the nesting instinct strongly. Everything I think about doing has to be done right now or else I get frustrated. I still feel good other than the above mentioned pain in my ribs. I was able to teach my cycle classes until the end of September. I am hoping that because I was so active during my pregnancy that my labor will be a piece of cake. The boys were not hard they only took 5 hours so I am hopeful that sister will be less time than that. So less than a week and we still have not decided on a name. We have three names that we like but honestly we are not even sure if we will use one of them. Hopefully in the next week we will figure out what we should name our little "princess" (as my niece Dallyn keeps referring to her). I am still in the Young Womens at church and what a great calling. I love the girls and have so much fun with them. Well that is pretty much it. Between being pregnant, young womens, always looking for new and fun music for my cycle classes, and chasing the boys around my weeks go by pretty fast.
